Aubrey, Ask and you shall receive ;)
Welcome to another Wino Wednesday! Today I want to tell you about my weekend. Specifically my Saturday.
J and I went to Victoria Valley Vineyards near Table Rock. They had a few of their 2011 wines that weren't available last time we were there so we thought it was a perfect day to ride up.
It was a beautiful day, and the wine was delicious. I love Pulse, their signature Red Blend, but they had a 2011 Cabernet that was to die for! We had bread and olive oil dip and goat cheese, cranberries, and almonds. I have definitely found a new app for parties. That was a great combination!
When we finished at the Vineyard we decided to ride up to Pretty Place at Camp Greenville. I've never been there before and I'd been wanting to see it. On the way we stopped at the lookout.
When we got to the outdoor chapel it was freezing! Like, I was chattering it was so cold. But it was beautiful. The sun was starting to go down so we didn't get great pictures, but it was a nice view.
Then we headed home and got take-out fro Five Guys and watched the Clemson v. Carolina game. We were disappointed in our boys, Carolina definitely showed up and stayed. Where we showed up then kinda took a nap in the second half.
I also tried the ChocolatRougue Dark Red I talked about last week. The chocolate notes were darker than the Sweet Red, but it was still kinda sweet. It had a dry finish though and I actually really enjoyed it. I could only have a glass of the Sweet Red but I had two of the Dark Red and would've had more except I was a little tipsy. This one had 13.2% alcohol. I know that is more than most of the wines I drink, but I've had on with 16% before so it's certainly not unheard of.
Have you ever been to a vineyard you just loved? Discover any great wines that way?
