Fun Infinity Scarf Tutorial

So I was at Hobby Lobby spending more money that I have picking up supplies when I stumbled across the fabric squares. You guys have seen these before right? The color coordinated squares for small projects? Well it has been a while since I used a sewing machine but in high school I was pretty good. So in the hopes that it would be like riding the proverbial bicycle, I picked up a pack of the squares.

Saturday I was at home and I decided to give this little project a shot. I laid out the fabric squares and picked the three I thought went best together. I picked out a pretty pink thread from my grandmother's basket o' goodies and sewed them together end to end.

 

Then I took out the iron. I folded it in half with the back sides facing out and sewed the length and one short side.

 

After I turned it right side out, I folded in the un-sewn side and tucked the opposite end in the opening. I pinned and stitched across it.

Voila! Unique and Easy Infinity Scarf. I only used 3 of the squares so the project costs less than $5 and only took about 30 minutes. I love the finished project. I have plans for this scarf, but I'm going to have to make more of these for me and for Christmas gifts this year!

To-Do List: Sewing

So over the weekend I tested my old sewing skills and it turns out, I'm still pretty adept with a sewing machine. I'm going to post a fun project tutorial on Thursday. Today I've been playing on Pinterest and I've added several sewing projects to my to-do list. I thought I'd share :)

I plan on making at least two of these. One long, one knee length. And I'm gonna add pockets :)
