In a word...

Last year around this time I claimed "Savor" as my word for 2013. I wanted to embrace every moment of the amazing year and relish all of the emotion that getting married would bring.

In a nutshell, that didn't happen. Instead of relishing every experience and emotion I spent a large portion of my year distracting myself with details and throwing myself into unnecessary projects to avoid the reality that my father wasn't going to be walking me down the aisle at my wedding. He wasn't going to get a chance to hold his first grandbaby. He couldn't hug my sister at her graduation and tell her how proud he was of her. It was a year full of wonderful, happy things, but he wasn't here. Bittersweet.

So this year my goal is to slow down, do less, and hopefully not experience any major life events. I want to find a rhythm with my husband and enjoy our new home without trying to fill every weekend with activities or projects.

Don't get me wrong. There will be crafting and projects, but not every weekend. I'm not going to try and do everything that everyone asks me to do this year. I'll admit I'm off to a rocky start with this one, but I'm going to work on taking it easy this year. I'm going to spend time with my husband, spend time by myself, and take time to just be.

Relax, Breathe, Repeat.

Great goal to have friend! I also pray for a calm year and nothing scary or life changing.

A great goal--but sometimes just being is the hardest thing to do. I need to calm down and let life wash over me, too, but that's much easier said than done! Best of luck in your goal, and I hope 2014 is good to you!

OH I think we all fall way short when we try on just being.. It is a woman thing. We think we have to fix it, make it , do it. Standing with you that you can do this.

This is a word that I could focus on this year. Sometimes we could all stand to just chill for a bit.

Be is a fantastic word! So simple, yet it covers so much!

"Be" is a perfect word. There's no pressure in it. :) Mine is "Expression." So far it's going well.
