Welcome back to Wino Wednesday with Aubrey from High-Heeled Love and Myself!

Three Simple Rules:

It's amazing how many people I meet who tell me they can't find a wine that they like. So today I thought I'd share what I consider to be some "starter" wines. In my experience most people like them, and they seem to condition your taste buds to be able to enjoy other wines.

I do a lot of teasing about White Zinfandel. "Friends don't let friends drink White Zin". But the truth is this is the wine I started with in college. It's sweet, generally has a pretty smooth finish, and I personally never got a "wine headache" with it. It pairs well with a lot of things since it's a pink wine, so it's a good place to start if you can't jump right in to the "big girl wines" like Cab, Chardonnay or Merlot.

There is nothing (IMHO) that goes better with Mexican food than Sangria. While I like to toy with new recipes, the best is still this baby right here. I love Madria Sangria, and anywhere I've ever taken it people love it. Homemade sangria's usually have a merlot or Cab base, and if you aren't a wine drinker, it may be too much for you. Madria Sangria has all the great sangria flavor, but it also has a light carbonation and a smooth finish. It's great if you're getting your feet wet with different wines.

And finally Red Moscato. If you are a sweet white drinker who wants to slowly work into red wines, this is the place to start. I personally don't love reds WHITES unless it's with fish or in the middle of the hot summer. Anytime I'm drinking with white wine drinkers, this is what I bring to the party. I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't love it. It's a great way to work into reds. My sister started here and soon after discovered she also liked Pinot Noirs, so it really is a good stepping block.

It's no secret that wine can be an acquired taste, but I personally believe it is one worth acquiring! Afterall, a glass of red wine a day has excellent heart health benefits :)

Happy Wino Wednesday! Link-up your wine-related posts below!

Great information especially since so many people are afraid to try wine because they are scared of it being too strong.

We've talked before about how I never really drank white so I'd like to work my way that way. I'll give a couple of these a try to see if I can find a style of white that I really like. It would be nice to have something cold for the summertime.

I am not a wine drinking for a number of reasons such as I don't like the taste and when I do like the taste and drink it, it goes to my head and makes me drunk pretty quick
